Just booked flights and Airbnbs for a quick five day vacation in San Juan over the E aster weekend. Any suggestions of what to do? Any idea if there are Turo like alternatives to renting a car, T uro is coming up empty ? I p lan to do at least one day of scuba diving minimum.

They do get teh Mazda 2 hatchback there, and it’s available in blue, so maybe you can drive one of those

I am half Puerto Rican but it has been some time since I’ve been over there. I doubt turo or an equivalent is functioning there. Even standard rental cars can be a little sketchy . Like most islands, enjoy the beaches, greenery, people and food. B e smart when it gets dark and even during the daytime. Gangs have been an increasing problem on the island and the hurricane didn't help anything.

My wife is from there so I know it decently well.
If you like history definitely visit Old San Juan and El Morro.
If you’re not staying right on the beach Playa Isla Verde is right in front of the airport and is a nice public beach.
Not sure about scuba diving but for snorkeling my wife always books the Spread Eagle II out of Fajardo if we do that.
Make sure to try tostones, pernil, and flan at the minimum. If you’re a carboholic like me you should stop at a bakery and get some pa n de agau
The Condado is the ritzy area if you’re looking for something fancy.
Kasalta is a very good bakery.
And just a head up Uber drivers are not allowed into the airport, so if you’re not renting a car you’ll need to take a taxi or walk a couple blocks away from the airport to catch and Uber.
Let me know if you have any questions.

PR is the only place in the USA you can buy a new Mazda2. You should do that. Completely legal, too.
